Membership of the Atlanta Chapter, TAI reflects our cultural and our intergenerational values. Our membership includes men and women of different races, ages, including military and civilian, veterans and non-veterans.
Throughout our history, members of the Atlanta Chapter, TAI have consistently provided inspiration, motivation, and mentoring for elementary, middle, and high school students in Metro Atlanta. We typically provide presentations to twenty-five to thirty schools each year, averaging five hundred or more students per school. We estimate that we have made presentations to more than a quarter of million students in the Metro Atlanta and surrounding area.
Our goal is to assist students in developing positive attitudes, character, and leadership skills. Our youth programs are centered on aviation careers and education.
Our annual Aviation Career Enrichment Program (ACE) is designed to stimulate and inspire youth to improve their academic performance, character development and citizenship.
The Atlanta Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization. Our fund raising initiatives are for our Youth Development Programs and Education Awards Funds
The Atlanta Chapter Tuskegee Airmen also collaborates with The Organization of Black Airline Pilots (OBAP), The National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE), The Alliance of Black Telecommunications Employees, Delta Airlines, Sam Club, Flight Buddies, ACE Academy, The Museum of Patriotism and a host of other organizations in order to continue to promote careers in aviation for our young men and women.
The yet untold story of the continuing role of the Tuskegee Airmen in the desegregation of the armed forces and what that has meant to the development of today’s armed force remains to be told. The Atlanta Chapter Tuskegee Airmen has accepted the challenge to continue their legacy though our various youth aviation education programs. |
